Ten-Day Tower Crane Operator Training Program

This is the ultimate hands-on training experience if you look to begin a career as a tower crane operator. Build up your skills to complete the NCCCO Certified Tower Crane Operator in a safe-supervised training environment.

    Program Overview

    This program is ideal for individuals who are looking to develop a future career as a NCCCO Tower Crane Operator.  Under the supervision of a certified instructor, you will learn:

    • OSHA 1926 Subpart CC and ASME B30.3 Regulations
    • Tower Crane Characteristics and Limitations
    • Site Conditions, Assembly and Set up
    • Power Line Safety
    • Inspections
    • Safety Devices, Aids & Operations
    • Responsibilities
    • Hand and Voice Signals
    • Personnel Platform
    • Rigging

    The two-week course breakdown:

    Week 1 

    Five days of hands-on operation in a safe, supervised learning environment that will help you develop the skill to be safe and productive.

    Week 2

    Two and a half-day preparation workshop, written exams, along with two and a half-day practice and practical testing on the crane, for a total of five days. 

    This training and testing can be conducted at our facility or yours and like all of our other training courses, it is available Nationwide. Upon successful completion you will be certified in the following tower crane types:

    • Hammerhead
    • Luffer
    • Self-Erecting

    The NCCCO national crane operator certification program is recognized by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration as meeting OSHA’s requirements for crane operator competency and provides significant benefits for employers who adopt the CCO certification program. 

    NCCCO programs meet federal OSHA regulations and American National Standard ASME B30.3

    The training atmosphere for this program has been designed to mimic the conditions that exist within the workplace. While in the training field, students perform all projects under the supervision of NCCCO certified instructors who advise and guide them. In order to ensure each student feels comfortable and confident performing the necessary tasks, this program is approximately 53% hands-on training.

    Ten-Day Tower Crane Operator Program Eligibility

    This is an excellent program to begin your career as a NCCCO Certified Tower Crane.  Just like all of our NCCCO related programs you must be 18 years old and adhere to NCCCO Substance Abuse Policy and Code of Ethics policy.  This program specifically requires you to have three years of construction experience.  Successfully obtaining a NCCCO Certified Tower Crane Operator endorsement requires you to pass a written exam along with a practical crane operation exam.
