Program Overview
This program is ideal for any individual looking to expand their career as a NCCCO Certified Mobile Crane Operator. The Ten-Day Mobile Crane Operator is designed for anyone who has been in the construction industry around cranes and rigging for three years or more. The program is intended as an opportunity to gain the certifications and qualifications that are required by OSHA and demanded by employers.
This ten-day program is an integrated hands-on program to help you get ready for the NCCCO written and practical exams. You will spend the first five days at our facility practicing mobile crane operations including learning more about:
- Inspections
- Crane Dynamics
- Operational Aids
- Range Diagrams
- Load Charts
- Crane Set Up
- And More
Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable and capable of helping you understand the crane dynamics and how to safely perform your job. The amount of hands-on practical time on the crane is unmatched with any other training facility in the country. Every day you will be tasked with a series of drills and exercises that will improve your skillset as an operator.
The objective of this program is to prepare graduates to enter the industry with NCCCO Crane Operator Certifications. Students prepare to become certified as operators of Hydraulic Boom Mobile Cranes. Successful graduates will earn four (4) NCCCO Certifications. NCCCO Exams take place during the program and will include three (3) Written & two (2) Practical Certification tests. Passing these exams results in the following four NCCCO Certifications: (TSS) Fixed Cab Hydraulic Crane, (TLL) Swing Cab Hydraulic Crane, (BTF) Boom Truck Fixed Cab Crane, and (STC) Service Truck Crane.
The training atmosphere for this program has been designed to mimic the conditions that exist within the workplace. While in the training field, students perform all projects under the supervision of NCCCO certified instructors who advise and guide them. In order to ensure each student feels comfortable and confident performing the necessary tasks, this program is approximately 55% hands-on training.
Crane Operator, Rigger & Signal Person Program Eligibility
To begin your career as a NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator you must be 18 years of age. This program specifically requires you to have three (3) years construction related experience. You must also complete with NCCCO’s Substance Abuse Policy and Code of Ethics. You will complete your certification when you have successfully passed the NCCCO Written 90 Question Core Exam and 26 Question Specialty Exam. You also must pass a crane operation practical exam.
