Troy L. Clark

President

Troy L. Clark is the President of MSC, Inc. and its family of companies — MSC Safety Solutions, Colorado Crane Operator School (CCOS), CraneQualified.com, MSC Workforce Develpment, and ProLevari. His core belief drives everything the companies do: safety isn’t a compliance exercise, it’s what we owe each other. Rather than treating safety as a checklist of rules to enforce, Troy builds it as a workforce development problem.

Troy has worked in the safety industry for more than 35 years, specializing in construction and general industry policy development, behavioral-based safety, fall protection, and safety management principles. His background spans nuclear power (NPPD), asbestos and lead abatement, heavy civil construction (Ames and SEMA Construction), and commercial and government work, including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers construction sites with Hensel Phelps. He has taught thousands of hours of safety and management training and helped develop customized training for many contractors. He builds and updates safety programs, conducts accident investigations, and advocates for clients during OSHA investigations and post-citation proceedings.

Troy joined Miller Safety Consulting in the spring of 2010, became a part owner that same year, and took over as sole owner in 2015. Under his leadership, the company evolved into MSC Safety Solutions and grew into the broader family of brands it is today, each built to solve a different piece of the same problem: getting the field, not just the paperwork, to actually be safe. Troy is a member of the National AGC Health and Safety Committee and ASSE, serves as administrator for the Steel Erectors Safety Association of Colorado (SESAC), Roaring Fork Safety Association (RFSA), and Contrator’s Elite Safety Association (CESA). He also writes and speaks widely on construction safety and workforce development, sharing his perspective with industry leaders.

Troy was born in a small Nebraska town and spent his high school years back in his family’s hometown of Culbertson. After high school he joined the Army, spending most of his service in Germany patrolling the East German border. He returned home in 1988 and attended Peru State College before eventually moving to Colorado, where he met his wife, Catherine. Outside of work, Troy is an upland game hunter who trains his own dogs, an avid motorcyclist, and a part time golfer. He believes we can succeed only if we honor our past, present, and future.
